The team at Mercer & Barker are pleased to announce that Emma Coffee winner of the Katie Ogden Solo Award for Baritone has agreed to join the team as a “Young Ambassador”,

Emma started playing the baritone, aged 8, in her primary school brass band and Wardle Junior Blast under the tuition of Lee Rigg which lead her on to join the Wardle Academy Youth band, which she played in up until the age of 18. With the youth band Emma, won numerous national, European and brass in concert titles and travelled up and down the country and across Europe to play in many iconic venues.

In late 2020, Emma, via audition, received a place in the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, where she completed 4 courses, all of which sat playing first baritone. A highlight from NYBBGB was when she won the Katie Ogden solo competition.

In January 2022 Emma accepted the solo baritone seat at Pemberton Old Wigan ‘A’ band where she continues to play.
