
Sarah Lenton
Hailing
from Cambridge, Sarah started the Baritone Aged 5. She then found
herself becoming one of the youngest players to join the now GUS band at
aged 13. Sarah went through both the National Children’s band of Great
Britain and National Youth brass band of Great Britain Completing a
total of 12 consecutive courses. Sarah studied at the Royal Northern
College of Music, she became a member of top flights bands including
Fairey’s, Fodens, Leyland and most recently Grimethorpe colliery band
all occupying the solo baritone seat. In 2014 Sarah competed at the
European Solo competition in Perth, being crowned Best Baritone in the
whole competition and reaching the semifinals.
Sarah has now settled in Nottingham and is currently solo Baritone
with the Brighouse and Rastrick Band having had her debut contest with
the band at the Europeans in Lithuania in May this year. When she is
not playing, Sarah works in a Mental health team in Nottingham and
enjoys spending her free time with her little boy Freddie.
