Molly Clough

Molly started playing tenor horn at the age of 7 at Rochdale Music Service and at her Primary School, which led to her playing with Wardle Junior Blast. She auditioned for the national children’s band of Great Britain at age 10, and gained a seat, attending for 3 years. On her final Childrens band course in 2021, Molly was a mentor and was appointed Principal Horn. She attended her first National Youth Brass Band course in 2022 and continues to enjoy the experiences this brings. She currently plays with the Wardle Academy Youth band as solo horn, having successfully performed with them in many places including Utrecht, Switzerland and Malmö, with numerous wins in many competitions throughout this time. She also plays solo horn in the Wardle Anderson Brass Band, who recently won the 1st section North West area contest, and are looking forward to competing at the National finals in Cheltenham in September. Molly also plays with the Yorkshire Youth Brass Band and is lucky enough to get the opportunity to perform with this band at the Black Dyke Brass festival every year. Molly has recently started to play on the Mercer & Barker MB2-H mouthpiece, she says it feels a lot more comfortable to play and it has improved her sound massively.
