John grew up in brass banding playing at Freckleton Band & Lancashire Youth Band.

He then spent many years as a musician in the Army, before becoming a brass teacher & conductor.

John has played for many brass bands including, Stocksbridge, Wingates, Leyland, Brighouse & scratch band BadAss Brass.

He also enjoys playing in the pit orchestra for many shows in the Blackpool area, on trumpet & flugel.

John has been a member of staff at The National Children’s & Youth Brass Bands of Great Britain, for 20 years.

His love of music & travel has seen him perform all over Europe, and as far away as Australia, Canada & America.
