Henry Kay
I started playing Tuba aged 13 in Muscat, Oman then moved to England where I quickly started playing for Wigan music service ensembles. As I progressed I was offered a place at JRNCM where Les Neish became my teacher. This then lead to playing Principle Bb Bass for NYBBS and principle Eb Bass for NYBBGB. As lockdown began I took up Bass Trombone as a second study and I picked it up quickly allowing me to start playing for Wigan Youth Jazz orchestra, Halle youth orchestra, Greater Manchester youth brass band, Rainford silver band and even 2 concerts with NYBBGB on bass trombone. In September I will be going to RNCM to study a BMus in music performance. I currently use The Goliath on Bb Bass and the MB1.5BT on Bass Trombone. My sound and Range have improved and are extremely comfortable.
