Gary Rose
Gary Rose is an experienced musician, videographer, and music producer – born and raised in the village of Clowne, Derbyshire. From a young age of 4, he was introduced to the world of music by his parents and through the Salvation Army and has been playing brass instruments ever since. He started with cornet but later moved on to play the euphonium, with which he fell in love. He’s been a part of The International Staff Band and is currently the solo euphonium for the Kettering Citadel Band.
Apart from music, he also pursued a career in piano tuning and worked in this field for some years. However, his love for the Salvation Army and music brought him back to work for the organization. He’s been a vocal and euphonium soloist in various Salvation Army events in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Germany.
In addition to his musical exploits, he’s also an experienced videographer and music producer, running his own company called ‘Rose Tinted Media.’ Gary is also proud to be a Geneva Instruments Ambassador for euphonium and plays the Cardinal GVL model.
He’s married to Suzanne, and has a young son who’s following in his footsteps and learning to play the euphonium. He is dedicated, passionate and serious about music being such an important part of our lives and tries to encourage that message both in person and on his online social platforms.
Having tried a Mercer and Barker GW4 on recommendation, he immediately found a connection with it and is happy to promote that fact. He encourages brass players to at least try a Mercer and Barker mouthpiece, even if – like him – they think there’s nothing wrong with their current mouthpiece!
