Elise Hale

Elise started playing age 8 with Cyprus Music Service, originally starting on cornet and then expanding later onto trumpet. After moving back to the UK, I got involved with NMPAT, starting with the junior orchestra, then progressing into the training brass band on flugel for the first time before the lockdown hit, and then proceeded to move up to the youth band for two years on Flugel, then assistant principal for a year and I am currently sat principal cornet. I primarily play flugelhorn with the award-winning Youth Brass 2000, where I’ve won two National Youth Championships of Great Britain and achieved two podium finishes at the Europeans. I also start my first NYBBGB course this Easter on flugel, and I’ve worked my way down the cornet line with Harborough Band. I enjoy using the Mercer & Barker MB4-F Flugel in BSP as it has helped increase my stamina playing and creating a more full sound in the higher register particularly.
