Colin Sneade

We are delighted to announce and honoured that Colin Sneade is joining the team as an Ambassador for Mercer and Barker.

Welcome to the family Colin.

After playing on a 24AW mega tone for decades Colin switched to the MB3 tuba mouthpiece within minutes of trying it.

Colin studied Tuba at the RNCM with Stuart Roebuck, and became the first Tuba player to gain the College diploma of Professional Performance.

He has played professionally with the Halle, RLPO and Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestras, and regularly plays with Limelight Brass.

In 1979 he started work at the Coventry School of Music ( later the Coventry Centre for the Performing Arts). Whilst in post, Colin was the Brass tutor with the CYO and toured as soloist to Yugoslavia, Russia and Germany and the Czech Republic, playing the Edward Gregson Tuba Concerto, then the Robert Ramskill Tuba Concerto, that was written for him.

Colin has been Head of Music, and Head of Performing Arts in a Derby Comprehensive, and today is a freelance teacher, player and conductor based in Wrexham, North Wales.

A lifelong Salvationist, Colin is Bandmaster at Wrexham Citadel, and plays EEb Bass for Royal Buckley Town Band
