I need a mouthpiece that checks all of the boxes. I need comfort on the face, razor-sharp clarity on the fronts of notes, and arguably most important, the true core centric tenor tone quality of the euphonium. I used to think I had to compromise something to gain another. Not anymore. The folks at Mercer and Barker wereincredibly thorough and we have arrived on what I believe is the best possibleversion of a “51D” mouthpiece ever made. This is the most comfortable and best-sounding mouthpiece I’ve ever played. It truly  makes my profession easier and more enjoyable. I would classify this as a hybrid between the popular 51D/BB1mouthpieces, with the best qualities of each. Give it a try. You won’t regret
