James Garlick Joins the Fold

It is with great pleasure that we announce James Garlick as our most recent product development artist, James comes with a top class pedigree of trombone playing prowess , playing with the likes of Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band, Tredegar Band and at the age of 18 was appointed solo trombone at the world famous Brighouse & Rastrick Band, James has also played with Grimethorpe Colliery, Fairey Band, Black Dyke and Fodens. While studying at the Royal Northern College of Music James was taught by some of the best trombone players suck as Andrew Berryman and Rob Holliday.

James' first professional gig was with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, from there he has worked with the Halle Orchestra, Opera North, Manchester Camerata, BBC Philharmonic, Northern Ballet, Gubbay Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. James has also worked as a tutor at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music and with the RNCM as an external examiner. |In 2014 James became the conductor of Boarshurst Silver Band progressing from 3rd section to Championship section withion 4 years qualifying for 4 national finals in 5 years. James continues to work with the grass roots brassband scene currently conducting the Uppermill Band.

James is currently a freelance trombone player working with many orchestras and function bands, his contribution to the development of particularly the MB4.75G "JG" and the MB5G has been invaluable, these fabulous mouthpieces along with the MB4G JP "Dragon", MB4.5G "Viper" and MB6G will no doubt become huge players in the Tenor Trombone Market.
