Adam Warburton

Adam is from Rochdale and has been playing the trombone since he was 7 years old. He began lessons at his Primary School under Lee Rigg, and when he was 10 was asked to join Wardle Youth Band. Since then, he has won numerous contests with the band, including 4 European Youth Championships, At both the 2019 and 2022 contests, Adam won the best Soloist prize.

Adam has played for Wardle Anderson Brass since he was 11, playing Solo Trombone with the band for 7 years. Adam is the current Principal Trombone of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain a position he has held since 2019 and this year was a winner of the Katie Ogden Award. Adam is taught by Brett Baker and is looking forward to beginning his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in September 2022.

Adam has just been announced as the Co-Principal Trombone player with the world famous Black Dyke Band and currently plays on the MB5-SS mouthpiece. We are extremely please to be working with Adam as a Mercer & Barker “Young Ambassador”.
